26th Annual Harbor Lights Festival on Saturday, December 1, 2007, is Corpus Christi's unique celebration, ringing in the beginning of the holiday season for residents and visitors alike. The event has continued to grow each year and is featured in newspapers across the country as a "must see" event. The beautiful skyline and bay front marina area is illuminated for the holiday season. The fun and hospitality of the waterfront area provides the setting for wonderful sights, enjoyable family activities and a variety of vendors featuring great food and holiday items.

In beautiful downtown Corpus Christi, along Shoreline Blvd, on the bay front of the sparkling marina. Enjoy the illuminated skyline, the decorated stores and restaurants and the joys of the holidays are found wherever you look.

The event is free to the public and attracts families throughout the Coastal Bend and visitors from as far away as Connecticut. Last year's event was one of the biggest ever with an estimated attendance of 20,000 people. As the event continues to grow with new features being added annually the event is sure to be even larger this year.

 Children's Parade |
Santa and the Parade will begin at Memorial Coliseum and proceed north in the southbound lane of Shoreline Blvd. to Schatzell Street. The spectacular view of the bay front makes watching the parade even more delightful. The judges will be located on the median of Shoreline Blvd. near Schaztell Street and a special awards presentation will take place later in the evening for those winning their category.

***Children's Activity Area***

|
The Downtown Optimist Club sponsors a Children's Activity Area with games, face painting and holiday activities for enjoyment. Children will be assisted by more than 50 volunteers in writing postcards to Santa, writing holiday greeting cards and making gifts such as garlands, jewelry and ornaments.

***The Main Entertainment Stage***

Enjoy a variety of entertainment from area church groups, school choirs and area talent singing holiday cheer. A true point of the evening with crowd pleasing songs and presentations.

***Ceremonial Lighting of the 75' Tree of Lights***

Santa's Motorcade will arrive in grand style led by festive twirlers ending with the guest of honor, Santa Clause. The motorcade will travel down Shoreline Blvd. to the lighting ceremony. The lighting of The Tree of Lights and all of the magnificent downtown building lights officially begins the holiday season.

One of the events features a floating stage in the Marina Basin that will feature special holiday entertainment. You'll enjoy live commentary of the boat parade by a local on-air radio personality who will be joined by some of Corpus Christi's top entertainers.

***Gingerbread and Holiday Tree Village***

|
|
The gingerbread holiday tree village has proved to be a crowd favorite. Beautiful gingerbread houses made by businesses and residents are displayed for public viewing. A creative holiday atmosphere is created in an air-conditioned tent decorated with lighted holiday trees. Gingerbread cookies are available for decorating and purchase.

***The Laser Light Show Spectacular***

The sky fills with bright lights and animation as lasers create a truly unique holiday show all carefully choreographed to everyone's favorite holiday music. This display has become a favorite for the attendees!

***The Illuminated Boat Parade***

|
|
The Marina sparkles as boat captains, who have spent countless hours decorating their vessels, begin a regatta through the bay. Creative announcing adds the the fun as luxury motorboats, sailboats, shrimp boats, tugs, Coast Guard Cutters, kayaks and windsurfers float through the Marina as their captains and crews sing carols to entertain spectators and wow the judges along Shoreline Drive. Special awards are presented to the winners in various categories.

As in the past, the finale to the Lighting Ceremony and Illuminated Boat Parade is the spectacular fireworks display over the Bay. One of our local radio stations will provide a live radio simulcast of the fireworks as spectators line the seawall to view the fabulous show!
